I heart Kat Von D

I cannot even believe I am admitting this, but I have been loving a show called LAINK. For those of you who have not watched it, I encourage you to do so. I even made my husband watch it one night and he wouldn't fully admit to it, but I think he liked it too. I wouldn't call it an addiction quit yet, but its for sure on my list of DVR recordings.

Kat Von D is one of the worlds best tattoo artists. Not worlds best GIRL tattoo artist, but best all around. Stars flock to her shop to get a funky black and grey tattoo from Ms. D. This show follows her as she opens her new tattoo shop in LA and hires 5 of her most trusted tattoo friends to open up shop with her.

KIM: Kat plucked her from Chicago. She is one of the coolest, down to earth chicks I have seen on TV. She just loves to ink people. She is quiet, and unassuming and her tattoos are bold with lots and lots of color. I think if I were a tattoo artist there, she would be my best home girl.

HANNAH: She is the older one in the group, but don't be fooled she has a crazy chin ring and loves to tattoo 50's pin up dolls, which has really made me think of getting one myself. If I still want to be married, I must keep that a secret...:)

COREY: He is the only male employee at LAink. He is one of the "fathers" of the black and grey tattoo, and he does it all by hand. You want a tattoo from Corey, he will just start drawin' on your skin.

PIXIE: She is my favorite maybe because she used to be a waitress at my favorite restaurant Swingers or because she is so 50's retro and has sweet as can be. She is Kat's best friend and Store Manager.

KAT: Everywhere you look she has a tattoo and her right leg is called a "yearbook," so whoever she tattoos has to sign her leg!! Sometimes she wear button down jean vests with nothing underneath and it kind of scares me. I wonder if she needs a stylist?? hmmmm....

I love tattoos, I have two and would like a couple more. Its my way of totally expressing what I love and have a passion for. I don't LOVE the pain, but I LOVE the end results. I also love watching others get them and the stories behind each one. I think that's why I like the show, the clients that come in to get tattoos have such interesting stories about why they want a tattoo. Sometimes they are really neat, and sometimes I wonder if they are smoking crack. For instance, this one lady wanted a "super bad" chick on her right thigh. Like this chick was hard core with weapons and skulls. Ummm...no thanks!

LAink. Tuesdays nights at 10pm on TLC. Don't miss it---it takes me out of my blonde hair, Honda driving, Gap wearing, preppy life. What I really want is a tattoo sleeve--anyone object?? (hahaha)
